As I’ve wrote many times here on my blog, women dating younger men is no “one-time” event. In fact I believe that this trend is becoming much more popular as we see in our society. Will that trend fade? Possibly later, but here are some facts.

1. our population has more baby-boomers (people within the ages of 45-65) than any other age group.

2. divorce rates are sky high meaning that many of these boomers already are divorced and looking for  newer relationships.

3. women dating younger men just fits as many women feel they have lost the zest for life, and being with a younger man adds it back into their life.

4. baby-boomer women are more financially secure, more comfortable with their sexuality and with their careers that they no longer need this type of “fulfilment” from men.

5. mature women in their 40′s, 50′s and 60′s don’t look their age as technology, healthy eating and living has become more prevelant and acceptable in our society.

So, as you can see, the new era for women dating younger men is not something that is going to disappear because some think its taboo. This new era is going to be around for many years ahead. Even by doing so our children who are in their 20′s and 30′s will more or less learn from their mothers and society that women dating younger men is nothing to be ashamed of or any out of the ordinary. In fact it has become a choice of destination if you will, for many older more mature women who had their lives put on hold for the good of their husbands careers, raising children and doing everything else for their families.

Now that doesn’t mean all women have faced these challenges or been through the situations that I just mentioned. But there is enough women who are exactly in this situation or just getting out of that situation who now feel that it’s time to take care of themselves now that their motherly obligations may have come to and end.

Linda Hogan, the recently divorced wife of Hulk Hogan, was seen in Las Vegas’s Palm’s Hotel with her new younger man that she is currently dating. That man is 19 year old Charlie Hill, former high school classmates of both Brooke Hogan and Nick Hogan, siblings of Linda and the Hulkster.

Around the “blogosphere” Linda seems to be generating the brunt of the blame here. But from a woman’s perspective, there are two sides to any arguments.

Hulk Hogan, is in fact now dating his daughter’s girlfriend as a steady fling. But the common message which seems to be misunderstood is that both aren’t looking for a serious relationship after an obvious hurtful breakup.Linda is still torn over her son’s recent sentencing to prison for an auto accident that injured another person in that accident, is probably acting out of emotions as much as other emotonally feelings that she is suffering from.

Hulk, who is probably equally devasted and distraught, is probably just as confused and filled with emotions as his now ex-wife feels. It is obvious that it has turned their once normal family life into what is now considered to a soap opera.

But getting back to Linda Hogan dating a younger man. From a women’s perspective, that’s what being a cougar is all about. Having fun, with a younger more energetic man that can satisfy what she is looking for right now. Nothing serious, just pure fun. This is what most cougars are in search of.

Now of course, she probably could have used better judgment in selecting a younger man, and probably someone that didn’t go to high schook with her kids, but I guess that’s what makes her happy.

Ladies, let’s keep in mind one thing. We can have fun, and enjoy being a sophisticated, mature woman, and be selective in who we date. Granted, we might not all have the spotlight placed on us as did Linda Hogan in this story, but good judgement always helps! There are plenty younger men in their late 20′s and 30′s that can satisfy our cravings for fun and romance, without totally going ballistic!
